Born in Sydney's inspiring waters, Waterlings was created by me, Sasha, after 25 years of teaching little ones to swim (and witnessing a few too many pool evacuations!). Do you wear a nappy under a swimming nappy?
No! Our swimming nappies are designed to be worn alone, providing all the protection needed during water activities. As swim teachers, we actually don't recommend using nappies underneath because they weigh babes down in the water (not much fun for little paddlers!).
Do swim nappies hold runny poo?
The million-dollar question! This product is designed with special leg bands that create a secure seal around those chunky little thighs, plus they're fully lined to prevent leaks. After 25 years teaching little ones to swim, we've fine-tuned what works (and seen enough pool evacuations to know what doesn't!).
What is the point of a swim nappy?
They're the unsung heroes of family water fun! They prevent contamination of swimming water while allowing your baby to enjoy splashing about comfortably—essential for public pools and considerate at beaches too. Like all swim nappies, they let water and wee pass through (because swimming feels lighter that way!) but contain the code browns so everyone can enjoy the water together.
Which size should I choose for swimming?
Our sizing is unisex and based on Australian Standard Sizing. However, our nappies are a more generous fit so we suggest choosing a size smaller than you normally would.
- XS: 0-3 months
- S: 3-6 months
- M: 6-12 months
- L: 12-24 months
- XL: 2-3 years
The nappy should fit snugly without being too tight – you should be able to fit 2 fingers under the leg bands for just the right balance of comfort and protection during your water adventures.
How do I care for my reusable swim nappies?
Easy as a summer breeze! Rinse after use, then machine wash with your regular laundry on a gentle cold cycle. Our durable swim nappies maintain their quality, style, and vibrant colors even after countless beach trips and pool sessions.
